“A Day in the Life” with: Montréal Multidisciplinary Artist Ravyn R. Bekh

When I first met Ravyn R. Bekh at a cafe, it was like the sun had entered the room. Her energy is so vibrant and warm. The kind of person that makes you feel recharged when you spend time with them, her enthusiasm for life is contagious. She is thoughtful, creative, empathetic and a lot mischievous. Her passion is channelled into her artistic practice and into her communities. She is a force of good in this world and it is a privilege to be a part of her life.

Summer Days have always been my favourite. (Camping trips to spend time with the wind and write sapphic poetry about the sun)
Ravyn R. Bekh
Every Day starts with Roxxie. (She’s 7. And perfect. As you can see.)
Most Days I laugh the loudest with my nearest and dearest. (Just a couple of hooligans solving crimes at Le 4e Mur. Mystery Gang, eat your heart out.)
Lovely Days are for tearooms with intelligent & beautiful women, both mothers and sisters alike. (Forever learning from and with them.)
These Days, we’re hard at work at The Centaur Theatre. (Rehearsing…
…building, imagining, and creating the world around us…
Ravyn R. Bekh
…as well as ringing in the new and exciting season)

And Our Days always start with dancing. (You know you wanna)

Which ’hood are you in?

At the moment, I’m in NDG. But I’ve lived all over the city since I was a wee seedling.

What do you do?

Since graduating from the Dawson Dome in ’22, I’m fortunate enough to consider myself a Multi-Disciplinary Creator (Actor, Writer, Director)

What are you currently working on?

Sakura: After Chekov written by Harry Standjofski and directed by Eda Holmes. A very human piece that I hope causes discourse and discussion on the topics of land, wealth, and the state of the world.

Where can we find your work?

Currently? The Centaur Theatre!

Otherwise? Various MTL stages. On the radio. Maybe even if you look hard enough on your ole faithful streaming service.
