Reiki Discovery is a platform that helps people locate reiki healers in their area who are moral, skilled, and heart-centred. We spoke with Inge Broer, owner of Reiki Discovery, to learn more about them.
What is your business called and what does it do?
Reiki Discovery – it’s a platform that allows people to find ethical, competent and heart-centered reiki healers in their area.
We’re starting out in over 100 cities, but we’re based in Montreal so ReikiMontreal.org gets special attention from us.
What made you want to do this work?
I’ve always been interested in resilience and energy healing is unique in its way of transforming stuckness into growth (and fast). I did a certificate in it, did a lot of healing work on myself, and everything unfolded from there. First, I started seeing clients, then I started teaching Reiki, and now I’m creating this platform so I can mentor and help other healers do their best work.
What problem did you want to solve with the business?
When I started ReikiMontreal.org I wanted to offer a more holistic pathway to healing – one that would include people’s spiritual beliefs as well as the wisdom held in their bodies. I saw a pathway to healing that was quicker than what was traditionally offered and wanted to make it available.
Building the platform, that goal is still very near and dear to my heart, but I’d add that I also want to elevate and highlight energy healing practitioners who are great at their work, mentoring them while connecting them to their ideal clients, and taking the pressure off them of learning how to market themselves.
Who are your clientele/demographics?
You’re an ideal client for us if you are ready to take responsibility for your pain, transform your stuckness into growth and love yourself more while you’re at it.
How does your business make money? How does it work?
Clients pay our practitioners directly for their healing sessions. Practitioners are members of our network and pay a monthly fee to be mentored.
Where in the city can we find your profession?
We have members of our team ready to see you in Lachine, Brossard, the Plateau and NDG.
What is the best question a prospective customer could ask a member of your profession when comparing services? Give the answer as well.
The best question is: Are we a good fit?
This is deep and intimate work and the fit you have with your practitioner matters a great deal. A good practitioner will take the time to speak with you, hear you out on your challenges and goals and will be honest with you whether they think they can help you or not. You need to feel safe and respected by your practitioner.
What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?
The best part is the people I get to work with. They are some of the smartest, kindest people around and the investments they make in themselves always seem to have a positive impact on their communities.
The worst part is having to figure out all the technical things pertaining to owning a business and over a hundred websites, but I know that’s what’s holding back a lot of great practitioners from doing their best work so I’m happy to handle it for us all (and actually do enjoy using that part of my brain).
What is your favourite joke about your own profession?
I’m embarrassed to say I had to ask Gemini for jokes 😅. We laugh all the time in our sessions, but I don’t know of any actual jokes about Reiki practitioners (although I feel like there’s a lot to laugh at). This one hit close to home –
Why did the Reiki practitioner stop using their phone? It was draining their energy.

PAY IT FORWARD: What is another local business that you love?
I really love Lili & Oli cafe in Wellington. Every time I walk in there I feel so welcomed.
