What is your business called, and what does it do?
Ma Chérie Bleue is an award-winning, appointment-only bridal boutique in Rosemère, just north of Montreal. We specialize in curating a diverse selection of wedding gowns and accessories honouring each bride’s style and individuality.
What inspired you to start this business?
I wanted to create a space where every bride feels celebrated, seen, and supported. My love for original bridal fashion and deep commitment to inclusivity led to the creation of Ma Chérie Bleue. Brides do not find us for the styles and brands that exist in Montreal; they find us for what’s uniquely different.
What problem were you trying to solve?
The retail industry, in general, often overlooks personalized service. Bridal should be an exception to that rule; after all, it is the only time a client will align herself emotionally. Therefore, I wanted to fill that gap by offering an inclusive, welcoming environment where all brides can feel confident finding a gown that truly reflects who they are.
Who are your clients?
Our clients are modern, style-savvy brides looking for a personalized and inclusive bridal experience. They value authenticity, quality, and a boutique environment where their unique journey is respected and celebrated.
How does your business operate?
We work exclusively by appointment to provide private, one-on-one consultations. Revenue comes from the sale of bridal gowns, veils, accessories, and other wedding essentials. This approach allows us to focus entirely on each bride’s individual needs.
Where can someone find your boutique?
You’ll find us in Rosemère, just outside of Montreal. We proudly serve brides from across the Greater Montreal area and beyond.
What’s the best question a bride should ask when comparing bridal boutiques?
Q: “How do you ensure each bride receives a truly personalized and inclusive experience?”
A: We take time to learn each bride’s story—her vision, culture, and style. With private appointments and a thoughtfully curated gown selection, we ensure each visit feels meaningful and uniquely hers.
What’s the best part of your job? And the most challenging?
The most rewarding part of my job is witnessing a bride light up when she finds the perfect dress that aligns with her personality and style —it’s a powerful and emotional moment that gives you goose bumps. The biggest challenge, however, is navigating and challenging systemic barriers within the industry. For instance, we take pride in offering an extensive selection of wedding dresses for plus-size brides. At the end of the day, she’s searching for the same beautiful dress as any other bride, just in her size, and one she can actually try on. This commitment reinforces our purpose and deepens our impact on the industry.
What’s your favourite industry-related joke?
A bride once asked, “Can you guarantee a stress-free dress experience?” I smiled and said, “Absolutely—just make sure there are no guests, no photos, and no wedding!”
