Kimber (Kimba for close friends) is an affectionate dog who absolutely loves cuddles and attention. She forms strong bonds with people and truly enjoys sharing calm, loving moments with her humans.
She has been independently evaluated several times, first at a shelter in Vermont, then at Auberge Marmaduke, where she interacted with 20 to 30 other dogs. These evaluations helped clearly define her profile: Kimber is comfortable around other dogs and does well in multi-dog environments.
On walks, Kimber can sometimes be a bit confident on leash and may react vocally to certain dogs. She benefits from calm, confident handling and responds very well to someone who can guide her. She does not pull excessively and does well with clear structure and direction.
With people, Kimber is truly a gem. Friendly and enthusiastic, she may jump to greet visitors, but quickly settles once introductions are done. She is not possessive with her toys or food and especially enjoys relaxing on the couch, close to her humans.
She is also gentle and cautious with children. She has lived with young kids (ages 2 and 4) and has always behaved with care and softness. As with any dog, interactions should be supervised, but Kimber is naturally comfortable with young children.
Outdoors, Kimber may show some guarding instincts by barking when she notices activity around the home. She may also show interest in small animals like rabbits or cats during walks, but these behaviours can be managed well with proper guidance.
Kimber is looking for a loving, structured home that can provide consistent guidance and supportive walks. In return, she will offer a gentle, loyal, and deeply affectionate presence in everyday life.
