Homegrown Business: ClickSpace

ClickSpace is a Montréal collaborative e-commerce hub where entrepreneurs can grow, operate and scale their business. We spoke with them to find out more.

ClickSpace

What is your business called and what does it do?

Clickspace is a digital and physical community where e-commerce businesses come to receive the support they need to succeed at every stage of their growth.

We offer flexible office space and storage, work lofts, a vast collection of services as well as shipping fulfillment and logistics so an entrepreneur can come to us with an idea and we will do the rest.

What made you want to do this work?

The pandemic hit local businesses especially hard and Clickspace was born out of a need to support local entrepreneurs as they migrated their businesses online.

What problem did you want to solve with the business?

We aim to bridge the gap between local businesses and retail giants by giving them a competitive advantage with deep discounts.

Entrepreneurship, especially at the start-up stage, can be a challenging time when every dollar counts. With that said, at Clickspace we strive to offer the most accessible prices for our spaces and services through discounts achieved by economies of scale.

Who are your clientele/demographics?

Our clients are people with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. We serve both new and existing e-commerce businesses; as well as local brick and mortar businesses pivoting their businesses online.

How does your business make money? How does it work?

Clickspace is a membership-based service.

Where in Montreal can we find your profession?

Clickspace is located in the heart of District Central, with several other locations anticipated to open this year.

What is the best question a prospective customer could ask a member of your profession when comparing services? Give the answer as well.

Potential members should ask themselves and ask us how we can help them succeed.

The answer is that there are countless ways and we are adding more services daily; whether you need a quiet place to get to work, a creative network of peers to exchange ideas with a service to ship your products cheaper and faster, the right lighting to snap your social media photos- we have it all. Whatever your professional pain points are, we will aim to resolve them or partner with a company that can because your success is our success.

What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?

The best part of the job is discovering creativity and talent right in our own Montreal backyard. Every day we come across so many businesses and the brilliant minds behind them- and it just never gets old.

The Clickspace member gym and lounge on our 10th floor are pretty awesome, too.

The worst part of the job is declining members from other sectors. Currently, our District Central location is a hub for e-commerce entrepreneurs and services related to them- exclusively; our next phase will focus on the tech sector, and we are in discussion for the subsequent ones. (All suggestions are welcome!)

PAY IT FORWARD: What is another Montreal business that you love?

Our raison d’etre is to support local businesses so if it’s made in Montreal, we absolutely love it…. But I would be remiss if I didn’t name some of our early members like Ecocat, MTL Bboard, Wavency, Novagrow, Movemate, Atelier Murri, 3DM logistics, Beartech, Cody Caissie studio, IDX Design + Com. These brands have a special Clickspace hustle and we are very proud to support them.
