Esthétique Sérénité offers a wide range of beauty and wellness services, including facials, anti-aging treatments, microdermabrasion, waxing, manicures, pedicures, makeup, and more — all with the goal of helping clients feel confident and cared for. We spoke with owner Precilia Thibodeau to learn how she’s creating a personalized, client-focused approach to esthetics in the Laval and Montreal region.
What is your business called, and what does it do?
Esthétique Sérénité – Serenity Esthetics. We do various services such as facials, anti-aging facials, microdermabrasion, waxing, manicure, pedicures, makeup, scalp micropigmentation and more.
What made you want to do this work?
I have always had a passion for helping others and connecting with people. By doing what I do, I help people gain confidence from within themselves, with just simply being a professional to guiding them for the best outcome they are looking for, depending on the service
What problem did you want to solve with the business?
I wanted to create a business where clients truly feel understood and cared for. Before becoming a professional myself, I often felt that other estheticians didn’t really listen to me as a client. That experience inspired me to take a different approach. I make it a priority to be attentive, to have thorough consultations, and to really understand each client’s needs so I can provide the best solution for them. For me, it’s never just about a quick in-and-out service—it’s about building trust and delivering care that makes clients feel valued.
Who are your clientele/demographics?
My clientele varies from ages 25 to 70 years old.
How does your business make money? How does it work?
We do various facial treatments, makeup, manicures and pedicures. We also help build a proper skincare regimen for clients at home.
Where in the city can we find your profession?
I make myself available for my clients in the Laval or Montreal region.
What is the best question a prospective customer could ask a member of your profession when comparing services? Give the answer as well.
The best question a prospective customer can ask is, “How will this treatment or product address my specific skin concerns?” Everyone’s skin is unique, and a good esthetician should be able to explain how their approach is tailored to your individual needs. Asking this question helps ensure you’re not just picking from a menu of services, but investing in a personalized treatment plan that takes your skin type, lifestyle, and goals into account.
What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?
The best part of what I do is helping clients feel confident and radiant in their own skin — seeing their happiness after a treatment is incredibly rewarding. The most challenging part is managing misconceptions; many people expect instant, permanent results, when in reality, skin health is a journey that requires consistency and care. It’s also about understanding if a client chooses not to listen to their esthetician, they may not get the best results.
What is your favourite joke about your own profession?
Estheticians are basically skin therapists — we treat your face and listen to all your problems at the same time.
Where can we follow you?
