Abe the cat is looking for a new home in the Montréal area

Hello, I’m Abe! I’m 14 years old, but that doesn’t stop me from playing like a kitten with my favourite balls. I’m a sociable cat who loves humans, especially when they brush me and scratch my chin! I may be a little shy at first, but that won’t last long.

I came to the shelter in October because my keeper could no longer afford my medical bills. I suffer from hyperthyroidism, but I have a treatment that controls the disease well, a cream to be applied in the ear in the morning and evening. I take good care of myself! I don’t have many teeth left, so I only eat wet food. I was very thin when I arrived at the shelter, but I’m gradually putting weight back on, and my new family will have to keep an eye on my appetite.

Because of my age and temperament, I’m looking for a quiet home without young children or pets, where I can receive all the attention I deserve. I need a family who can cover all my vet bills and special needs because I don’t want to go back to the shelter at the first sign of trouble!

It’s true that adopting me is a financial commitment, but I’m worth it: I’m an affectionate cat, kind and always ready to come and purr by your side.
