Born into a culturally mixed family and raised in Florida, multi-instrumentalist Franky Selector was exposed to many influential musical styles from an early age. His father’s vast collection of jazz and classical records, the Funk-Boogie/Afro-Cuban of ’70s beach roller skaters and his mother’s preference for “Chanson Française” all contributed to his musical upbringing.
A founding member of Montreal band Skyjuice, he shares the stage with Ben Harper, The Herbaliser, The Groove Collective, The Band and Charlie Creed-Miles at various festivals.
In the early 2000s, Franky broadened his knowledge of studio engineering and music production and began composing for television in his own studio. It was through all these experiences that he released his first solo album, Under The Midnight Sun, in 2013.
After touring Canada and appearing at key industry shows (CMW, Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, Festival Orientalys), FrankySelector seduced European audiences with several concerts in Italy as well as taking part in the Trouville Off-Courts Short Film Festival in France.
In 2020, he releases his fourth album Never Better, a passport to travel the world. The music is rich and sexy, with funky soul to keep you dancing and your serotonin levels up.
