Old Photos of Dogs in Montreal (1921-1940)

Dogs have long been “man’s best friend”. The COVID-19 pandemic saw a surge in dog ownership in Montreal, but Montreal has long been home to our favourite canine friends. We recently discovered the McCord Stewart Museum archives and have been spending a lot of time browsing their incredible gallery of images. The website is easy to use and has a variety of subjects and topics to browse.

In this archive, you will find photographs of adorable dogs in Montreal and the surrounding areas between 1921-1940. This is the second article in our series – check out our archive of dogs from 1862-1898 here.
