Old Photographs of the construction of the Lasalle Bridge (1919-1921)

Living in Montréal, I feel like your whole day can be shifted on whether or not a bridge is closed. You can either be majorly inconvenienced or have the weight lifted off of your shoulders that your bridge is not closed due to construction. Construction of the bridges that surround Montréal, was the inspiration for this next gallery of photos. I chose to specifically focus on the construction of the Lasalle Bridge due to simply the fact that the photos were truly intriguing. I hope you enjoy what I found!

This photo in particular truly makes me wonder about the safety protocols that the workers had during that period. Whenever my significant other has to step on a construction site for work, he has to go through multiple trainings to get the proper safety accreditation.

Being a film enthusiast, the way that the film captured the snow in this shot is interesting. Most of the time on film, snow just looks overexposed and just bright white. In this photo you can make out the texture of the snow from the footprints in the far left, leading up to the bridge.
