Tell us a bit about your practice.
After starting my career in 2002 at the McGill University Health Centre, I opened my clinic in 2006. Since then we have expanded the clinic twice, in 2012 and again in 2023. From the very beginning, my practice has focused exclusively on the face, particularly advanced rhinoplasty and aging face procedures like facelifts, eyelid surgery, and brow lifts.
The deep plane facelift is often called the gold standard in facial rejuvenation. What draws patients to you for this advanced technique?
I am exclusively specialized in facial surgery. I do not do any body surgery such as breast surgery or tummy tucks. I have a great deal of experience with very advanced facial techniques such as the extended deep plane facelift, having started performing this procedure years before it became widespread. I was the only surgeon in Montreal performing this procedure for many years.
What would you say to someone who is considering a facelift but feels unsure or anxious about the decision?
My advice would be that if they are motivated and serious about undergoing the procedure, have a consultation, preferably by a very experienced surgeon. There is a limit to how much one can learn by doing their own research online. A consultation with an experienced, skilled specialist provides more complete and accurate information about expected results. It will also help them better understand what would be needed for their own particular face.
Speaking of results, how would you describe the satisfaction rate of patients following their facelift procedures?
Facelift surgery, especially the extended deep plane facelift I perform is associated with a very high satisfaction rate with revisions being a very rare exception in my practice. However, I perform a fair bit of revision facelift surgery for patients operated elsewhere who are not satisfied with their result.
