Recipe for Fajita Burger Wraps

Fajita Burger Wraps

Prep Time: 15 min
Total Time: 30 min
Serving: 2

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) Canola oil
  • 2 4 oz (112 g) burger patties
  • 3 Armstrong Mexican Fiesta Marble Jalapeño Cheddar Cheese slices, cut in half
  • ½ small onion, sliced
  • ½ small red bell pepper, cut into strips
  • 1 tsp taco seasoning
  • 2 oz (60ml) water
  • 2 large flour tortillas (10-inch)
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) salsa
  • Tortilla chips, crushed into coarse pieces

Directions:

  1. Start by preparing your burger patty according to package instructions or use your own homemade recipe. Top it with a slice of Armstrong Mexican Fiesta Marble Jalapeño cheddar cheese. Keep warm while you prepare the onion pepper mixture.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet on medium heat. Add onions and peppers. Sauté until they become soft and fragrant, about 6 minutes. Stir in the taco seasoning and continue to sauté until brown and caramelized. Add 2 oz of water and remove from heat. Stir the mixture to create a saucy glaze while the water reduces.
  3. Place ½ of a Mexican Fiesta cheese slice in the center of your tortilla. Place burger on top, followed by onion pepper mixture, salsa, and crushed tortilla chips.
  4. Fold the tortilla around the mixture to form a rectangular shape, ensuring that all ends are folded in to look like a parcel.
  5. Preheat a skillet on medium heat with 1 tbsp canola oil. Fry the wrap for 3-5 minutes with the seam side down until golden brown in colour. Turn it over and fry for another 3-5 minutes until crispy.
  6. Remove from the pan. Pat dry on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  7. Let sit for 2-3 minutes before cutting it in half with a serrated bread knife.
