Audréanne Filion is a Montreal-based cellist, composer, and improviser recognized for her work in contemporary and experimental music.
She has premiered numerous works by composers including Sarah Davachi, Martin Arnold, Émilie Girard-Charest, Takuto Fukuda, Geneviève Ackerman, Jean Décarie, Simon Martin, Olivier Saint-Pierre, Lily Koslow, Michael Maevsky, and many others. As a composer-performer, Audréanne pursues a solo practice combining electroacoustic composition and cello improvisation, exploring the hybridization of instrumental and electronic languages, ambient and noise textures, and classical and experimental approaches. Her work investigates microtonality and timbral phenomena such as beating, distortion, and feedback. Her music has been presented at Gaudeamus Muziekweek, Festival CHIII, Soundwich, Totem Électrique, Interzone Editions, EAF, Codes d’Accès, Vivier InterUniversitaire, Midfield and others.
Active in the experimental pop scene, she performs with groups including Everly Lux, Jeanne Laforest and Xela Edna, and collaborates frequently with electronic musicians such as YlangYlang, Jessica Moss, Kid Koala, Erika Angell, and Myriam Bleau. Her musical endeavours have taken her to Canada, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, France, the Netherlands, Germany, and Brazil.
Audréanne was trained at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree and an Artist Diploma in cello performance (Denis Brott and Elizabeth Dolin), as well as a Bachelor’s degree in electroacoustic composition (Louis Dufort and Martin Bédard).

Any shows or albums coming up?
I am currently working on my first solo album, it’s taking its time, and I don’t know yet when/where it will be released, to be continued!!!
I also have a tape release in the works with Cilice, a new Montreal label, and a track coming out on EAF’s 2026 compilation, which will also mark the launch of their label.

Rapid Fire Local Questions:
What is your favourite local restaurant?
Dynastie, Antep Kabab, Dosa Pointe, Piment Rouge, Behesht
What is your favourite street in your city and why?
Van Horne. I like that it is situated close to the train tracks and right at the edge of a neighbourhood. It also has the iconic Bovril building and, even today, still has a few jam spaces along that street. I also like the west part for its hills, and I love to jog there.
What is your favourite park in your city and why?
I like Ile de la Visitation because it’s pretty and near the water, but the main reason is for its hidden remains of the sault-au-récollet water mills.
What is your favourite music venue in your city?
Salle bourgie
What is your favourite music store in your city?
