“A Day in the Life” with: Visual Artist Hailey Guzik

Hailey Guzik creates installations that draw people into glowing, layered worlds where real plants sit alongside the virtual, and where the future feels present. Working with both physical and digital materials, Hailey is an artist who plants new possibilities at the intersection of culture, technology, and the ecological crisis. They create immersive environments that invite audiences to reflect on their relationship to nature and consider how we shape the emotional and political dimensions of the climate crisis. In their recent work, Hailey reimagines the garden as an arrangement of care. Their immersive worlds explore the practice of tending through informatic systems, forming speculative gardens that blend video, light, sound, and living plants with digital systems through processes of alteration and transformation. Their work has been presented across Eastern Canada. Based in Tiohtià:ke / Mooniyang / Montreal, QC, but originally from Menagoesg / Saint John, NB, Hailey is currently pursuing an MFA in Intermedia Studio Arts at Concordia University.
