Five Minutes With: Indie-Folk Musician Aaron Wylder

Born in the Caribbean, Aaron Wylder had a contented childhood typified by uncomplicated and down-to-earth island living. At the age of 14, he moved to Victoria, British Columbia. Before becoming a singer-songwriter, Aaron was a Canadian international rugby player. From Team Canada tours in South America to university varsity rugby in Victoria, the sport has always been a part of Wylder’s life. Influenced by island living and the West Coast, Wylder’s sound can be best described as a mixture of Americana and Indie Folk. He currently splits his time between Montreal and Victoria. Wylder can be found most times with a guitar in his hand. His new album Brand New TV, at its core, is a record about acceptance — of pain, of healing, and of the imperfect realities of being human. Out everywhere now.
