“A Day in the Life” with Montréal Theatre Singer Martin Kaller

To say that Martin Kaller wears many hats would be an understatement. From the moment I met Martin when he joined The Lyric Theatre Singers as a performer, I have always known him to be an incredibly kind and generous person. Over the years, his involvement has grown, and he has become a versatile and essential member of our artistic team. Martin is not only a fantastic singer but also serves as the Assistant Musical Director to Bob Bachelor, seamlessly balancing both roles with grace and skill.

But Martin’s contributions don’t stop there. Despite having a busy career outside of the vocal ensemble, he remains deeply committed to his fellow Singers and the overall musicianship of the group. His dedication is truly inspiring and greatly appreciated by all of us.

Which neighbourhood are you in?

After having spent a few years in Pointe-Saint-Charles, I moved back to Candiac, on the South Shore, where I grew up.

What do you do?

When I’m not taking care of safety and service at 35,000 feet, I’m most often rehearsing with our group! Although our rehearsal schedule is quite demanding, it allows us to put on professional quality shows with an amateur cast! I still occasionally sub for fellow organists as well as play for weddings and accompany my friends when they put on cabaret performances.

What are you currently working on?

Most of my time off from work has been focused on our upcoming show, Broadway Dreams. Our vocal ensemble made up of 42 singers (myself included) will be performing a Broadway revue.

Where can we find your work?

You can visit The Lyric Theatre for our upcoming shows. Find us at the Loyola Chapel for our Candlelight Christmas concert in early December!
