Jim Carrey
Who is your favourite comedian now?

What is your pre-show ritual?
I try to practice before I get to the venue. When I get to the venue I try to chill and read the room in case I want to do crowd work
What is your favourite place you have performed? Why?
I recently performed at my buddy’s birthday. He put on a little show in a cafe, I can’t remember the name but it was tight. It was just a really good vibe
What is your favourite bit you have written and why were you proud of it?
I have a joke about how girls “go on adventures”, but really they just mean “go for a walk”. I’m proud of it because it’s very honest take, like I actually believe that but it’s still funny. It’s hard to get both

Instagram reels

A joke about MTL? We pay the highest taxes in the country and have un-driveable roads and a laughable healthcare system. I haven’t seen a doctor since I moved here, that’s a joke. I do love mtl tho lol

PAY IT FORWARD: Who is another local comic/comedian we should know about?
There are a ton of criminally underrated English comics in Montreal. Quinn McMorrow is hilarious and runs an amazing show on St Laurent that has supported the scene immensely for almost the past decade. Dion Owen has headlined all over Europe but still performs in park shows when he’s home. Quinn Lague wrote, directed, and produced and entire mockumentary that is hilarious. Nazeer Khan and Zak Kik have both built up amazing communities around their shows and are original and talented writers. There’s so many great acts that are doing really cool stuff that flies under the radar, so thanks for giving us the space on here to talk about it! Anyone who wants to see more can check out mtlcomedy.ca it’s a great website that showcases local independently produced talent. A final shoutout to Kyra Carleton and Michelle Forrester hilarious ladies and my comedy besties, thanks to Kyra for dropping my name in here ❤️❤️
