Five Minutes With: Montréal-based Indie Techno Musician Dameer

Dameer is Bangladesh’s singer-songwriter, producer and DJ, moving to Montreal in 2021 to study Political Science at McGill. He has since released multiple Bangladeshi cult classics like Amar Jaan and Bashbo Bhalo, while also heading a rave series called “Deshi Not Desi” which he has toured in Vancouver, Toronto and of course in his new home of Montreal. He dreams of putting Bangladeshi artistry on everyone’s minds. and also of permanent Canadian residency. He is unsure whether these are mutually exclusive.
