Five Minutes With: Technical Death Metal Band Derelict

Derelict is a progressive technical death metal band hailing from Montreal, Quebec. Formed in 2006, the band quickly made a name for themselves with their aggressive yet intricate sound, blending elements of technical death metal with thrash and progressive influences.

Derelict released their debut album, “Ideological Prey,” in 2008, showcasing their ability to combine complex musicianship with relentless intensity. This was followed by their critically acclaimed second album, “Unspoken Words,” in 2009, which further solidified their place in the metal community. Their third album, “Perpetuation,” released in 2012, received widespread praise for its technical prowess and thematic depth, often described as a mix of Lamb of God-style groove with the complexity of technical death metal. Known for their high-energy live performances, Derelict has toured extensively, sharing the stage with notable acts such as Revocation, The Agonist, and 3 Inches of Blood. The band has also participated in several metal festivals, further expanding their fan base. Derelict’s music is celebrated for its precision and relentless energy, and they continue to push the boundaries of the technical death metal genre with each new release.
