TAXI GIRLS are a Montreal garage punk duo with something to say — and the riffs to back it up. Formed in 2022, V and J have built their sound at the intersection of riot grrrl fury, power pop melody, and the raw, unpolished energy of classic rock ‘n’ roll. Raised on Courtney Love, Bif Naked, and Green Day, and currently obsessed with Wet Leg and Lambrini Girls, they wear their influences like a distortion pedal: present but entirely their own.
After two EPs that established their voice, TAXI GIRLS are ready to make their biggest statement yet. Their debut full-length Static arrived June 26th, led by the punchy, pointed single “Say It!” The band is rooted in Montreal’s vibrant local scene — regulars at Turbo Haüs, devotees of Oblique Records, and proud products of a city they love deeply.
Live, they’re loud, prepared (vocal warm-ups with Cheryl Porter, always), and relentless.
