Live show ritual:

Gotta warm up my voice first and foremost!!!!! Drink a lottaaaa water! I listen to a lot of calming Hz music throughout the days where I perform to make sure my nervous system is feeling relaxed and to make sure I’m at my best during the show:)) Then it’s time for makeup and to choose my slaying outfits. Next up: get to soundcheck while warming up some more in my car! Do a lil’ soundcheck with the bandmates:) Have a lil’ supper if my belly is feeling hungry. BREATHE AND MEDITATE!!!! Sometimes I journal and remind myself to have fun and how grateful I am to be doing what I love, other times I enjoy my bandmates’ company and we just shoot the shit while waiting to go on. If there’s another performance happening before us, it’s nice to go listen and appreciate their music as an audience member:)

Favourite local musicians:

Avery Jane, Renon, Yzabo, Manella, Ramé Ensemble, Emma McDonald, Zibuwa, Vagabonde… there are so many Montreal women making amazing music!!!!

EP or LP?

EP!

Early bird or night owl?

Night owl by nature, but early bird by necessity usually🫠

Road or studio?

AHHH, tough question, they’re both so fulfilling, but so so so different! I’d LOVE to be on the road to connect with my audiences in person and make them sing and dance, but I’ve definitely had more opportunities to be in the studio. So far, I mostly only perform in Montreal. I still have a way to go with building my audience, so hopefully I’ll have LOADS of touring in my near future:) It’s SOOOO fun creating new music though!!!! Especially when you really click with the producers you work with. The excitement and energy in the room is ELECTRIC when both you and the producer are making magic. So my answer is studio for now:))) hopefully, it’ll get to be BOTH very soon!!

Any shows or albums coming up?

I had my last single release on January 16th, so I’m excited about that! And I’ve got another single from the EP dropping in March and then… My first EP release on April 11th!

Also, I will be performing on:

Rapid Fire Local Questions:

What is your favourite local restaurant?

This is not a restaurant per se, but I want to give a little shoutout to a tea place in the Plateau on Rachel. The owner, Nestor, gets to know every new client that walks in and he makes his tea with the most care and passion! It’s always DELICIOUS and catered to the season. If you love matcha and tea, it’s the place for you: Matcha is the name! There’s always a few snacks available too and he makes homemade puddings that are great post-workout:)

For an actual actual restaurant, if you’re looking for Indian food in the central area (Plateau in this case), Singh’s is amazing and the staff is so friendly too! If ever you’re looking for an authentic Ukrainian restaurant, might be a bit far for some of you, but around the RDP area, Leopolis is worth the detour, especially if you’ve never tried Ukrainian food before!!! You MUST get the cherry varenyky for dessert (otherwise known as perogies)!

What is your favourite street in your city and why?

Ouhhh, tough one!! Duluth is so charming and has so many cute coffee shops and restaurants. There’s a few Italian restaurants and a Greek one (Maison Grecque) I like going to close to the corner with St-Denis.

Otherwise, I always love walking past the Place-des-Arts area to see what festival is happening at that moment (corners of St-Catherine and rue Jeanne-Mance). Always something fun brewing there, either great live music or cool art / light installations!

What is your favourite park in your city and why?

Not sure Mount Royal is considered a park, but it’s definitely my #1 go-to because of how many different paths and sightseeing there is to do, so not my most original answer😂. Jeanne-Mance has great vibes if you want to have a picnic, see a cute dog passing by or take a little stroll and Lafontaine is great to sit in the grass, write songs, people watch, and even ice skate in the winter! Again, classic Mtl spots, but sometimes classic is best:)

What is your favourite music venue in your city?

CASA DEL POPOLO!!!!! The booking team there is always on top of their game when it comes to answering their emails and that kind of organization is SOOO important when managing your own bookings as an artist! They have a great vibe, great sound, great staff, and they even have food on the bar side of the venue! I always make sure to get my supper there when I’m performing @ Casa.

What is your favourite music store in your city?

Depending on what type of equipment I need, might go to Steve’s (classic) or Diplomate Musique on Beaubien for instrument-shopping and if it’s for equipment like microphones, pedals, and that kind of stuff, Moog Audio.
