Homegrown Business: Paul Jozsef of Digital Practice

Digital Practice is an IT consultancy that helps mental health professionals streamline their practices through digital marketing and online practice management solutions. We spoke with Paul Jozsef, founder and Managing Director of Digital Practice, to learn how his unique background as both a psychotherapist and web developer inspired a business designed to modernize the mental health industry.

Digital Practice

What is your business called, and what does it do?

Digital Practice is an IT consultancy dedicated to helping mental health practitioners streamline their practices through digital marketing and online practice management solutions.

What made you want to do this work?

I am a working psychotherapist with a background in web development. I noticed many of my colleagues in mental health were using outdated systems, which inspired me to create Digital Practice to help therapists digitize their private practices.

What problem did you want to solve with the business?

I wanted to assist therapists in simplifying administrative tasks and growing their practices, allowing them to focus on their primary role—helping people.

Who are your clientele/demographics?

Our services are tailored for mental health professionals, including psychotherapists, psychologists, counsellors, therapists, and coaches.

How does your business make money? How does it work?

We generate revenue in two ways:

1. Selling a comprehensive ‘how-to’ guide for therapists on how to digitize their private practices.

2 .Providing direct support for therapists who lack the time or expertise to streamline and market their practices.

Where in the city can we find your profession?

Digital Practice has offices in Montreal, Canada, as well as Sydney, Australia.

What is the best question a prospective customer could ask a member of your profession when comparing services?

Question: Why should we choose Digital Practice over other digital consultants?

Answer: You should choose Digital Practice because we specialize in working exclusively with mental health professionals. As a psychotherapist and web developer, I bring unique insights from both fields to deliver tailored solutions.

What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?

The best part of my work is helping therapists streamline and grow their practices. The most challenging aspect is managing the transition between my roles as a psychotherapist and a web developer, as they require very different skill sets.

What is your favourite joke about your own profession?

How many psychotherapists does it take to change a light bulb? One—but the light bulb has to want to change.

Where can we follow you?
