What is your channel called and what is it about?

I started my Instagram over 9 years ago to share a glimpse into my life as a lifestyle writer. Over time, it turned into a relatable outlet for millennials into drinks, night out, and sassy humour.

When did you start it? What motivated you at the beginning?

I started it about nine years ago, at a time when I was building my voice as a writer and wanted a space that felt more immediate and personal. It was less about strategy and more about instinct. I knew absolutely nothing about social media. I wanted to document the places I was going, what I was drinking, and the little moments that made up my life in Montreal.

Who were you inspired by? Any influences?

I have always been more inspired by editorial voices than traditional influencers. Think lifestyle writers with a strong point of view, a bit of wit, and a sense of storytelling. I was drawn to people who made everyday moments feel sharp and intentional rather than overly curated. To be fully blunt, I was a bit of a snob when it came to creating content and thought that only printed material was legit.

How would you describe your audience?

Mostly millennials who enjoy going out, discovering new spots, and have a soft spot for a good cocktail. They appreciate humour, a bit of honesty, and content that feels real rather than overly polished.

What is your creative process? Do you have people who work with you?

It is very instinct-driven. I usually start with a strong hook or a feeling I want to translate, then build the visuals and captions around that. I shoot most of my content myself and keep things fairly lean. It is important for me to stay close to the process so the tone always feels like me. Also, I like that I learned how to keep my real life private and that I stopped oversharing via my content. I could be at my 3rd wedding, and no one could have a way to know about it.

How do you monetize your content? Do you also have another job?

I monetize through brand collaborations, editorial writing, and commissioned pieces. I also work as a social media manager for my full-time job, which gives me a strong foundation on both the creative and strategic sides.

What is your favourite piece of content you have created?

I think it’s my most viral one (13M views), which was all about the way every generation posts in their Instagram stories. Always made me laugh how Gen X would tilt their text, while millennials are all about making it almost impossible to read.

What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?

The best part is being able to turn everyday experiences into something people connect with. The worst part is probably the constant pressure to create and stay visible, even when you would rather just enjoy the moment without thinking about content. It’s also having to work with brands that don’t fully trust that you know better regarding format and what appeals to your audience.

What are your future plans for your channel?

I want to keep evolving it toward more editorial, story-driven content, especially around travel and drinks culture. More depth, more intention, while still keeping that sense of humour and relatability.
