“A Day in the Life” with: Montréal-based Actor David Noël

David Noël is a bilingual actor based in Montréal. He’s enthusiastic about bringing as much art, beauty, and excitement into the world. Whether on stage or on TV, he enjoys collaborating with and being inspired by his peers. He’s also f**king gorgeous.

We crossed paths as teenagers doing community theatre with the Quebec Art Company, we then both studied acting in the French section of National Theatre School (but at different times), and we finally reconnected in 2022 during Pool (No Water) with Persephone Productions. I honestly can’t wait to work with him again.

Post-breakfast, it’s off to the gym. One thing I love about my neighbourhood is walking/biking through Park Baldwin. It’s often how I start and end my day.

After the gym, therapy. Acupuncture, osteopathy, massotherapy, psychotherapy, alternative therapies; I’m all for it. The job (and life!) can be physically, emotionally, mentally, and energetically demanding. Post-therapy, time to grab some lunch to go at Café Americano (I LOVE THEIR SANDWICHES).
After biking up Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges (that I refer to as Chemin du Cardio-Bonjour), I love walking through the woods of Mackenzie King Park to get to the Segal Centre for Performing Arts.
Another rehearsal day begins for Persephone Productions’ How to Survive in the Wild. Pictured above: Juliette Diodati, Jonathan Silver and Noah Labranche.
We open September 14th at the Segal Centre… which is according to this face, EXCITING. Pictured above: The assistant director.
Felt like adding this one too, just because. 🫠 © Emelia Hellman.

After rehearsal it’s off to the opening night of Faire le bien at Théâtre du Rideau Vert; a co-production with the NAC which showcases 9 graduating students from French theatre schools. I was part of this project last year in Marie Brassard’s L’Ombre and had a blast. © Louis-Charles Dumais

Before bed, and after bixi-ing through Baldwin Park, it’s time to review my lines in preparation for an upcoming 12-hour day shoot on Sorcières. « Bonne nuit-là! » © Eva-Maude TC

Which neighbourhood are you in?

I live on the extreme cusp of Plateau-Est. Between Baldwin Park and les Shops Angus. I’ve been living here for the last 3 years and love it.

What do you do?

I mainly work as a theatre and TV actor in both English and French, but I also translate, sing, and do other gigs on the side to make ends meet.

What are you currently working on?

I’m currently the assistant director for Persephone’s production of the English world premiere of How to Survive in the Wild by Jean-Philippe Guérard (Manuel de la vie sauvage). I’m also filming as a series regular on Sorcières, auditioning, translating, and exploring video game work for the first time.

Where can we find your work?

This fall, my character, Rémi Turcotte, returns to the second season of Sorcières which airs Tuesday nights on TVA.
