“A Day in the Life” with: Montréal Visual Artist Audrey Lord

Audrey Lord is a visual artist from Montreal, born and raised in Sainte-Rose, Laval, a place where it seems like all flowers go to bloom. After an initial attempt at studying science, she found her true calling in graphic design, where I had the privilege of meeting her. She started the Ronron Club brand shortly after completing her degree, with a desire to create and share cute things. Talented, determined, and with a unique vision, Audrey never ceases to amaze me (truly!). Her creations, as charming and vibrant as she is, shine brightly, whether tufted into cosy rugs or sprayed onto bold, colourful pieces of clothing at her studio in Montreal. It’s no surprise to see her thriving today, through collaborations and events.

A friend landed me books on Sanrio’s designs in the ’70s/80s and in the 90s/00s, I was in awe. Sanrio is a big inspiration of mine.
Here I was spray painting an old jeans jacket to make a cool upcycled piece.
I visited Studio Intik on Mont-Royal Ave where some of my screen printed merch is available.

Which neighbourhood are you in?

I live in Centre-Sud, Montreal. My art studio is located at Chat des Artistes on Parthenais.

What do you do?

I’m a multidisciplinary artist. I like to play with mediums that work well with my visual universe, curating a fuzzy and dreamy atmosphere. I mainly do digital illustrations, spray painted art and tufting. Starting from my silly illustrations, I design all sorts of cute items!

What are you currently working on?

I’m working on spray-painted sweatsuit sets for my winter collection. I adore working with cosy outfits and making them extra special for the person wearing them.

Where can we find your work?

You can find my creations online or on Instagram. I also have some items available at Citizen Vintage & Studio Intik in Montreal.
