Labworks Publishing Inc.

What is your business called and what does it do?

Labworks Publishing Inc. is a Canadian Hybrid Publishing company that brings together the best of self-publishing and traditional publishing. Our focus is on empowering diverse authors and giving their unique stories the platform they deserve.

What made you want to do this work?

I wanted Labworks Publishing Inc. to be a valuable resource for authors, especially those from diverse backgrounds, providing the guidance and services I wished I had when I started my journey.

What problem did you want to solve with the business?

The lack of diversity in literature motivated me. I wanted Labworks Publishing Inc. to be a credible pathway for authors in my community and beyond to tell their stories authentically.

Who are your clientele/demographics?

Everyone’s welcome! From kids aged 10 to seniors—basically, if you have a story to tell, we’re here for you.

How does your business make money? How does it work?

With our hybrid model, authors pay a set fee upfront, and we handle all aspects of publishing. If an author opts for our Traditional model, revenue is generated through book sales and additional services. Also, we offer individual services tailored for authors that require minimal assistance.

Where in the city can we find your profession?

We’re online! Check out our services on our website from anywhere in the world.

What is the best question a prospective customer could ask a member of your profession when comparing services? Give the answer as well.

– Prospective Customer: “How long will it take me to write a book, and which publishing path is better?”

– Answer: Writing time varies, and the publishing path depends on your preferences. Sometimes, an author may want to avoid taking on the many jobs of a self-publisher or may need more money upfront to invest, so everything needs to be considered properly to make the best decision. To help with your book-writing process, we’ve got a handy resource called “From Vision to Manuscript Book Outline.” You can visit our website now to take hold of this incredible resource.

What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?

Best part? Connecting with authors and helping them make their dreams a reality. Worst part? Seeing authors give up after we’ve invested so much time in them and in themselves—it’s tough.

What is your favourite joke about your own profession?

No specific joke, but the assumption that there are millions to be made in this profession can be pretty amusing! However, it is still the goal! Wink!
