Aizysse Baga is a Montréal-based music artist and performer from the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Active for over a decade, Aizysse has established a strong presence in Montréal’s artistic scene through a multidisciplinary approach that combines music creation, artistic direction, and cultural event production. I would say Shygirl, Allie X, Frigid, and Slayyyter hold a special place in my playlists.

Live show ritual:
I like to go around and meet people before going on stage if time allows it. I also love getting to know the artists and bands sharing the night with me. Creating connections with the people around you creates better synergy and helps make a show memorable because of the chemistry that’s built throughout the night.

Road or studio?
Both, for different reasons. I love being in the studio creating new sounds and songs with my bandmate Adélaïde. That’s where we let everything out creatively and push ourselves forward without limitations.
I also love going on the road and performing. Being on stage is my happy place. I’m a performer first and foremost, so nothing can beat the feeling of releasing all that energy and bringing the party to a venue.
Any shows or albums coming up?
My EP Divacore was released on July 31st. I’m incredibly proud of the work Adélaïde and I created together on this project. It’s a glimpse into the world we are building in an unapologetically queer way. Also, I will be performing a full set at the FME 2026 in Abitibi-Témiscamingue on September 5th.

What is your favourite local restaurant?

What is your favourite street in your city and why?
I don’t really have a favourite street, but I truly love walking along the Lachine Canal when heading home from work during sunny summer days. It’s such a beautiful walk.
What is your favourite park in your city and why?
Parc La Fontaine because of the small lake and the cute ducks you can sometimes see there. It’s also a lively gathering place for the neighbourhood.
What is your favourite music venue in your city?
Société des arts technologiques (SAT). I love the vibe of that venue.
What is your favourite music store in your city?
Beatnick Records. I found some amazing Grace Jones vinyl there.
