Jano Alek is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who rises above the conventional pop-rock artists in today’s scene. Born in Syria of Armenian descent, Jano Alek is a refugee artist who survived the war of Syria. After his family escaped the Armenian Genocide, they found a stable and welcoming life in Canada. Settling in Montreal, Quebec in 2015 after fleeing the middle east, Alek found himself starting from scratch once again.
No stranger to the music scene. Deeply inspired by strong 90s alternative rock bands, Alek channels passionate symbolism with emotional overtones in his music pop-rock at its finest. Infused with unique Armenian-Syrian riffs and melodies, Jano Alek creates a rock-solid foundation for the megalith. Funnelling lyrics through the heartfelt struggle of Alek’s journey, Jano Alek crafts positive yet simplistic lines that soar through this electrifying pop-rock psalm.
