How would you describe your comedy style?
I would describe my comedy as very personal, cultural, and introspective, but also honest. I can’t be anyone else but myself on stage.
Who was your favourite comedian growing up?
Eddie Murphy.
Who is your favourite comedian now?
Ali Wong, John Mulaney, Mitch Hedberg, and Adam Bloom!
What is your pre-show ritual?
Pacing.
What is your favourite place you have performed? Why?
I would say before I started my own room, I would say The Comedy Nest! It was the first place I did comedy.
What is your favourite bit you have written and why were you proud of it?
My Tiger jokes about dating. I would say I was proud of it because it was the first joke that I got combined with audience laughter that just made me keep coming back.
What is your favourite medium for listening or finding new comics/comedians?
Streaming is good, but nothing replaces live performances.
Tell us a joke about your city.
How do you speak French with a Filipino accent…come to one of my shows and you’ll find the answer!
Do you have anything to promote right now?
We have a weekly show at Comedy on Mackay that features local comedians from Montreal and out-of-towners. It’s on Tuesdays at 8 pm with an open mic at 10 pm.
